The Stockpot
16 August 2004
Last Saturday the group took matters into their own hands and chose
to throw out the original plan for our scheduled meeting and try one of
the truly magnificent restaurants in the area to hold our Happy Hour
Tribal meeting. Having never had a bad meal at this restaurant I was
anxious to try out their special treats in the bar. The Stockpot has
five or six different appetizers priced at $2.50 each on their Happy Hour
Menu. They also had special prices on wine, $2.50 well drinks, $2.50
domestic beers and $3.00 microbrews. Official "Happy Hour" is
Monday through Friday from 4 till 6. Prices are good in the bar or
outside on the patio. We chose to go on a Saturday evening and sit
outside on the patio and enjoy the warm summer weather and watch the foursomes
play the 18th hole. The patio is large with many tables with umbrellas
and there are also two massive tents set up on the grass that are
available ! when not in use for special parties. (We greeted the Forest
Grove 1984 class reunion as they sauntered past on their way to the bar in the
main tent.) Since it was not officially happy hour, we ordered
food from the bar menu and ate some of the best coconut shrimp and onion rings
in the area. The shrimp were served in a giant martini
glass....very cool!!! We also sampled the chicken quesadilla, crab and
cheese stuffed mushrooms, prime rib sandwich and seasoned fries.
The food was superb, and the drinks were strong............what more could you
ask for??? I'm ready to go back and try it on some weeknight .....how
about you guys? Let's add it to our list of regular meeting places.
